The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, the upcoming console-bound remake of Edmund McMillen and Florian Himsl's top-down action/adventure game, is headed to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita "early next year," the developer announced today.
The new version of the game, which was revealed last November, is being "remade from scratch," and will include more gameplay, characters, enemies and more than 110 new items, all in a 16-bit motif inspired by the SNES. It will also add co-op play, new challenge runs and more "secret stuff" that the developer isn't detailing yet — all of which is being programmed by Nicalis, of Cave Story and VVVVVV fame.
Those who already own The Binding of Isaac will receive a "Steam loyalty discount" when buying The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth next year. You can check out the new trailer above to see Isaac's upcoming rebirth.
